	WELCOME TO HARBOR BRANCH ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORIES, INC. The Harbor Branch Environmental Laboratories, Inc. (HBEL) continues to fulfill its commitment to protect and understand the environment. The laboratory houses state of the art testing equipment for pesticides, herbicides, trace metals and organic contamination. As part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining certification of the highest standards, and a desire to meet strict certification standards outside the state of Florida, in July 2000 the HBEL adopted National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) standards, which are recognized not only in the state of Florida but by many other states as well. In accordance with NELAP standards, the HBEL continues to participate in Proficiency Testing for Water Pollution and Water Supply, as well as the Everglades Round-Robin Low-Level Nutrient Proficiency Study sponsored by The Department of Environmental Protection., in addition to extensive and frequent on-site laboratory inspections. All four regional laboratories and the main laboratory continue to maintain the highest certification under the standards that have been adopted. HBEL provides services for a wide range of needs including marine dredging support, sanitary landfill monitoring, potable and waste water analysis, pesticide residue testing and research on new technologies and method development projects.
